Peter Jackson

Peter Jackson made history with The lord of the rings. The unassuming New Zealander amazed the world of cinema with his audacity and verve. This former director of anarchic, low-budget splatter movies was the unlikeliest of filmmakers to tackle a revered work of 20th century literature. But, in adapting Tolkein's Middle-earth mythos into blockbusters that are equal parts spectacle, computer effects and emotional poeticism, he has changed the rules of modern filmmaking.
