A lot has changed since the summer the devil came to Clara’s hometown.

Now fully actualized, Clara is pursuing her literary dreams in grad school, while her steadfast boyfriend, Jonah, collects accolades on the stage. With everything falling into place, there’s no reason for her to fear the devil’s reappearance―until she begins to suspect his attention has strayed to a new victim.

Meanwhile, Gus, an aspiring playwright on campus, encounters a devil of his own: a mysterious barista who plies him with decadent treats and prying questions. Gus has sworn to hold fast to a rigid, monastic lifestyle in order to achieve his lofty ambitions, yet the temptation to indulge his sweet tooth grows ever stronger.

But he will not be led astray. Not even by the devil.
